We show the result of a lower bound impact scenario of the 2024 YR4 asteroid for a vertical hit with Earth at 14 km/s. Having a size of overall 70m diameter, it will create a crater of no more than 450m diameter and 86m depth.
We show the result of an extreme impact scenario of the 2024 YR4 asteroid for a direct hit of Earth at 20 km/s and 45 degrees inclination. A crater of more than a kilometer width and 300 m depth is predicted.
